something is wrong with me
Dingo has been a bit off color the last few day's he has this infection in his eye, he has been in a fight with the ginger cat from his neighbor hood -strange because this male cat is his great friend when ever he sets eyes on him he looses his mind and does not want to come home -so I have been caring for him-cleaning his eye with distilled water and chamomile-TLC-and tucked him in which he really liked!-today he got the all clear it looks so much better no doctor needed-
happy me now!

Strange tree's
It usually starts with a kiss but with me it started with a snail (you think?huh?)
Well I was just having a practice with tatting and my choice was too make a snail from this lovely book tatting collage by Lindsay rogers.
But as I kept on going I thought "Nice" this could be something a bit more interesting (I do find snails interesting) as a project so this is what it turned out to be some strange looking trees in my opinion, a tree does not have a glass trunk and pink? but it was such fun making them and kept on making till I reached five so what to do with them now? well will see for now they are in a little box .I might make a few more as I bought all of the glass balls from the shop!..I get very excited you see-it was a nice little project - back to my little felted tatting book now,or.......

a bush calender
FEBRUARY
It is really a month of debutantes for all the young birds are entering the arena of life, and trying there little voices in the universal song.
By this time next year they will all be bringing out sons and daughters of there own,but now youth and freedom are theirs.
( from :a bush calender by Amy E Mack)
I started this painting- when back in Holland for a while -I did not realize it would take me one year to finish-I was dreaming too come back home to Australia to be outdoors again and see the birds fly over -I guess this painting represents "all I love about this land" and why I want too be here.

world map
Fallen in love with Australia
When I came here the first time about 23 years ago I was sold to the beauty of this land-my
wish to be able too live here was a dream come true when I moved here 9 years ago-
Outside living is such blessing when you grew up in a big city at the other side of the world, places are overcrowded never a time too be alone or have silence surrounding you.
This place is my inspiration for many of the things I do-I belong here as much as the tree's -
And tree's i love.
Working with felt became a passion when introduced By my good friend mady dooijes
I have not worked with felt for a while but when I picked out some peaces this morning i thought hee I need to do some felting soon again -I think I stopped for a while because of the water shortage-i was making very large peaces which uses lots of rinsing water-shawls,blankets, and even made beanbags which where part of an exhibition in collaboration with my dearest friend Ali Verban-this was the end prensentation of her PHD- I have some pictures somewhere that i need to look up-ok I need to go now because I have been asked to kook the choock.

found
Drawn by nature
On my adventure to the local op shop I found this etching - this beautiful Maori woman-an original print from 1776 -nr: 808 of a limited edition of 2000 prints-
Hodges accompanied Captain Cook on his second voyage to the South Seas from 1772-75. He mainly drew landscapes, but also some animals, birds and the peoples of the Pacific islands visited by the European explorers. Many of his views were later worked up into oil paintings or reproduced as engravings in published accounts of Cook's voyages and discoveries. | |
